Hey, I’m Summer. Just a tired mom doing her best, and most days, it still doesn’t feel like it’s enough.
I started this blog because honestly?
I needed somewhere to put all the stuff that’s too much for Facebook posts and too messy for group texts.
Somewhere for the real life.
The late-night homework and blood sugar checks life.
The toddler nap time and virtual school meltdown life.
The “did we remember to feed the cat?” life.
Basically, the life where nobody has it figured out and we’re all just doing the best we can while hoping caffeine counts as a coping strategy.
So, meet the crew:
- Rohan (7): Math whiz, video game champ, blood sugar battler, and soccer player. Living with Type 1 diabetes, ADHD, ARFID, and possibly autism/ODD. Basically a tiny hurricane with a stubborn streak that could level a city.
- Briseis (2): Snack hoarder, emotional support toddler, Bluey connoisseur. Fiercely protective of her brother, except for when she’s personally bullying him. Starting gymnastics soon because obviously our schedule wasn’t chaotic enough.
- Robbie: Full-time student, full-time staff mentor, full-time ADHD poster child. Loses his wallet at least twice a week. Also the designated social butterfly. He talks to people so I don’t have to.
- Summer: Introvert. Socially awkward. Professional avoider of small talk. Chaos manager. Anxiety battler. Missing a colon, but still stubbornly showing up. Probably hiding in a corner at any event, hoping Robbie remembers the small talk for both of us.
- Security Chief (Our Cat): 12 years old. Cancer fighter. Once scared off a burglar. Still undefeated and still acts like she pays the rent.
Why This Blog?
Because life here is a full-time, no-user-manual, hope-fueled survival game.
Because some days deserve a parade just for making it to bedtime.
Because the only thing we’re “expert level” at is winging it.
I’m not here to hand out parenting advice.
I’m here to tell the truth:
It’s messy. It’s loud. It’s exhausting.
And somehow — we’re still standing.
If you’re living your own brand of chaos too, welcome.
We’re a lot.
Sorry in advance.
(But also… not really sorry.)
