Banana Flamingos in the Grocery Store

What started as a cute moment ended in a parking lot meltdown. 

While grabbing dinner supplies, the kids each got a free banana from the produce section (shoutout to those little boxes of toddler happiness). Rohan peeled his, then discovered if you flip the peel just right, it kind of looks like the banana flamingos from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.

From that moment on, the banana was no longer a snack. It was a friend. A fragile, mushy friend he carried lovingly through the whole store until it started browning and drooping.

But when we got to the parking lot, reality hit. I told him he had to either eat it or throw it away before getting in the car.

Cue heartbreak.

He chose to throw it away. But not before many dramatic tears and one final photo in the parking lot—to remember his dear, accidentally discovered Banana Flamingo.

RIP, little guy. You were too pure for this world.
